Kids and Schools

In the true sense of community and to inspire family/whanau participation, the Sunrise Walk 5km Walk is free for kids 9 years and under. This applies to children accompanying parents or family members. We do not allow children to attend if unaccompanied, all children must be registered.

Children aged between 10 and 15 years of age cost $15.00 to register for the event. 
It’s a great opportunity for children to get involved in this popular fun community event that supports a leading charity.

Register your School!

Registered schools can have their students walk for free. 

1. Register your school with Jo Davis Phone: 09 640 0025 or email: jo.davis@hospice.co.nz
2. Allocate a teacher or committee member or head students to steer the participants in the walk.  
3. In return for walking for free, schools are asked to raise money for hospice, many do a sausage sizzle, ask for a gold coin donation, host a mufti day – the choice is up to you! 
4. Teachers and Supervisors of the students can walk for free, however any parents or family members must be registered through the Sunrise Walk for Hospice. Only students who are registered through their school can walk for free.
